Editing Our Sequence

This week was our final week of editing where as a group we edited our opening sequence.

We began this process by moving the footage we liked onto our timeline.

A member of the group took charge for the first session where we would contribute ideas and she would edit, although we all had an equal go at it.

On the second day, we all rotated on the editing so we equally had a go at it.

We encountered a continuity issue on the second day which we had to figure out how to overcome as a group.

We overcame this by adding an action match cut of our male carrying out the same action which ran smoothly.

Another thing we did during the first editing workshops was learn how to add titles. This process is a simple process but an important thing to remember is to leave the titles on long enough for slow readers but quick enough for people not to get bored-
  • be able to read out loud twice
  • be able to read in your head three times
Another thing to take into account is deleting the text around the titles once they are typed in, this avoids deleting data such as what font and size our titles are.
